Write up for final project:

My idea for my final project is called “My Hollywood”. In society we see Hollywood as the places for miracles and stars, where anything can happen. So I wanted to show “My Hollywood”, and where I think really movie moments happen. Each picture would symbolize a part of a movie, for example, the titles would be: the cast, the location, the soundtrack, and the deleted scenes. The cast would be the stars of my life, the ones who make everything happen, such as my friends, and family. I would want me photo to show their personalities, so lighting, position, and angle would play a big part in this photo. I would show the location is where my movie takes places, my home. It would be a frank photo, because unlike the real Hollywood, mine isn’t so picture perfect. Music is a main part in my life and so I had to have a soundtrack photo, not only is it important in my life, but also plays a vital role in a movie. I would show this photo more symbolic, where it wouldn’t just be a straight on photo. Also with this photo I think that I would add another medium. This would help to bring it more alive, because music brings the movie alive in a way. The deleted scenes are extra things that go unseen or forgotten. In whole it shows what I believe to be the real Hollywood.
The mode of thought that I’m putting in to these photos is a more realistic mode. It’s just what you see, plain, simple, and beautiful. I want you to look at it and see all the true beauty that is around us, just as it is. A lot of time we feel the need to perfect things, or ourselves, but I want to show the real bare mineral side, to make the imperfections perfectly imperfect. I have a more autobiographical sense to where my concerns are grounded. It really is all about me and my life. It tells a story about what’s important and wonderful to me. This shows that the type of thinking that will go in, and be needed to experience the piece is narrative. Because it’s the story of my life, you will have to be in that mindset when looking and taking the photos.
This piece is connected in the theme. They all have are parts of a movie, because when we think of Hollywood, we think of movies, so that’s how it all ties together with the “My Hollywood” idea. Though they all connect, they don’t have a normal story that grows over time. Time really isn’t a major part in this piece; it’s more of the present and now, describing who I am, at this moment and who and what makes me that person. Form, will be the main accept of my photos. Lighting and angle is going to help show the personalities of each object in the photo. They will create the mood and tone of the photos. Color will be the focal point in my photos. If I do have color, then it will symbolize an emotion or idea, which goes along with that object. The main thing about my photos is that they will be mine, and it will show. There will be this crisp and clean look to all of them. They will be distinct and different.
I think that this piece is more for teenager and adult ages. I don’t think that kids would appreciate it as much. I want them to see that even though they can’t be just like all the stars, there is so much to appreciate in the world that is just as good and beautiful. It can be looked at anytime, for anyone. It really is simplistic and that’s what makes it wonderful. To be honest, not a lot of artists have influenced me because I don’t know a lot of artists. It really will just be me that shines through these pictures. My hope is that others will see it simply like I do, there really won’t be any need to try to think what is being said; it will just be said. It will make you look and leave you happy, and content.

Yellow Wallpaper

I think this shows the story the yellow wallpaper because there is her husband who is always looking over her shoulder, control everything that she can do. Then there is her, she looks tired, depressed, and limp. The limp hand shows that she can hardly do the simple tasks that she is allowed and half the time the task she does, she doesn't want to do. The scattered pills, show that she is ill, but the reflection is great, it really shows that she is not happy with who she has become and what she is doing at the moment. The yellow tint, makes you uneasy and edgy, the fuzzy reflection and distress look on her face just goes to show the frustration and uneasiness, of the whole room, and life of the poor lady.

Color with Meaning

The tea cup is my favorite. The purple flower on the inside of the cup is the focal point and overall, it screams royal. The beauty of the contrast between the purple and white, just amaze my eyes. The yellow spatula reminds me of warmth and stem of the kitchen but the bright yellow, reminds me of the sun. The overall affect is summer cooking. Warm, tasty, and bright. The Blue heart set up, really at first glance is valentine's day love. The blue though of the heart, is the focal point and creates a sad and cold mood, meaning that not everyone has a happy V-day. The tree one, is great. I love it with all of the colors. The warm background reminds me a of a campfire, with red the intense seriousness, because it seems like in all my memories there was always that intense feeling, but the orange mixed in, symbolizes the playfulness and fun of campfires too. The purple tree though is a great deal of contrast, purple is class and royalty and sophistication. Where at camp you leave that all behind and so the bright fun colors out shine the tree, and overthrow the need to be perfect, like the color purple gives off.

Weekend Project

Blacks is a color that symbolizes power. It also creates the sense of evil of timeless. In this case, i think that black is showing power. Because the black shadow is a of a live person and, they defiantly have power over someone who is dead. They may have even created their death, alluding to the evil side.

Green is the most popular decorating color because its calming and relaxing. It also show renal, or refreshing. I think in this picture that the green is calming and relaxing. It seems like its in a small forest, where its very quiet and you soon find yourself releasing all your tension just by locking at the photo.

Red is emotionally intense. Red is the color of love and anger, which when your in love sometime you can get very angry. It simulates the heart to beat faster, and increases your heavy breathing. Red is also known to simulate your hunger. Red grabs your attention and makes your mouth water, weather its with desire, anger, or hunger, that's up to. This photo, the red really shows the sweetness and draws you in to grab one to eat, since its so bright.

Solid, reliable brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar to wood or leather. Brown can also be sad and wistful. In this photo The brown under the feet, shows that the person is steady and reliable, has her feet on the ground and give you the sense that you can trust them.

Blue is the most popular color of all time. calming, peaceful, tranquil. It also can be sad, cold, and depressing. Rooms with this color get a lot of work done in them. This photo really creates a peaceful mind set. It reminds you of the sound of the waves hitting the rocks, the soft breeze, and light blue sky, all together it slows you mind down and lets you breathe. It also creates a sad feeling because it reminds me i wont be going on vacation for a long time, which in my mind is very sad!

Purple the sign wealth, royalty, romantic, sophistication, luxury. Purple can appear artificial. This photo is a great example of that, a rose plus the purple, is very romantic, but the flowers also somehow appears not to be real.

Yellow is the attention getter, overpower happy, frustrating color. It makes you concentrate and focus on that color, but it can also cause a lot of anger and frustration. This picture the yellow grabs you eyes and never lets go. You cant help but to just concentrate on that flower.

White, the color of innocence and purity. Reflects the light and is bright and clean. Goes with everything. This little girl in the light shows that she is so young and has no idea about the world. Her mind is simple and pure, untainted, and bright.

Attractive/Replusive

On the mirror it says, "I HATE YOU". Her checks are the same color as the lipstick on the mirror. The blue reflects her deep sadness. The white dress symbolizes her young innocence and purity. It makes you turn away in disgust and sadness, but yet at the same time, you cant help but stare at it.

This one is so fun to look at with all the bright colors your eyes go everywhere and don't know where to settle. That was my point exactly. The picture was of a house burning down and was drawn like a three year old did it. Then i burnt the edges and wrote mom, to give it an actually creepy air to it. The crayons bring your eyes to the center, and the scribble lines make your eyes move everywhere as if you were in that fire. Makes you wonder what was going on in the little kids head, doesn't it??

Whats Important to Me

There are a lot of things that are important to me, my friends, pets, home. I also took a picture of my converse shoe label, a picture of a London phone booth in a magazine, coffee mug, stereo, chef hat, and a notebook. These things show my hopes and dreams, what makes me happy, what comforts me, and what I'm good at. Though they are only objects in a material world, they are objects that are very important to me. My friends i could not live without, they are my family. My pets are also important, i love them to death, and they always make me smile. I love coffee and converse shoes, no matter what day i have, i take a sip of coffee or put on my converse i instantly feel better. I love to write, i do it all the time, pretty much on anything so i took a pic of my notebook. My stereo, symbolizes my love for music, i am always singing and dancing. I don't know where i would be with out music. I took a picture of the London phone booth from a magi zine, because if i could live anywhere it would be London, that is one of my biggest dreams. I placed them on the picture of me in my bed because, your bed comforts you and is the key place where you dream.

This one, means a lot to me, because my dad is my hero. Being a chef, he really doesn't have a lot of time to spend with us, so the one place to connect to him is the kitchen. I use to spend all my summer in his kitchen, working and learning. We became really close, he even gave me his very first chef hat! I love him so much that i had to make sure he was included.

My Moribed Self (stockphotos)

I know that this picture is rather depressing, but i was going along with the theme of newspapers. It started with the idea that a drowning happened, and was going to overlap it with a newspaper clipping. Instead i wondered if anyone was wondering about who the hand belonged to..so i added a more personal touch. With the newspaper heading at the bottom..it created a great photo

My Next Attempt....

The heat blazing, the screams for air, the desperation is about to kill the one last chance of a saving breathe. Firemen, are sometimes forgotten, but as i was looking for picture i read a story on google about a family that was saved from the grim reaper, by one brave fireman. He entered a house that was ready to collapse. So i dedicate this to that brave fighter.

Playing with Photoshop!

I call this London Letters. I ,myself, have always wanted to go to London. The saying there is anything is possible. With that in mind i wanted to convey a message that indeed something happened. I used the postcard shows that the letter was getting sent home, for unknown reasons. The worried girl in this photo is placed there to symbolized trouble. When your little and get in trouble, you got it, put in the corner. Together it makes an interesting photo that makes you wonder, what happened in London?

I made this with the idea of a perfect romance in my mind. Like any romance, I instantly thought of Paris, the city of love. With the sweet glowing heart and cool angled picture of the Effle Tower, I knew they went perfect together. So I hope you LOVE (pun intended) my photo.
