Write up for final project:

My idea for my final project is called “My Hollywood”. In society we see Hollywood as the places for miracles and stars, where anything can happen. So I wanted to show “My Hollywood”, and where I think really movie moments happen. Each picture would symbolize a part of a movie, for example, the titles would be: the cast, the location, the soundtrack, and the deleted scenes. The cast would be the stars of my life, the ones who make everything happen, such as my friends, and family. I would want me photo to show their personalities, so lighting, position, and angle would play a big part in this photo. I would show the location is where my movie takes places, my home. It would be a frank photo, because unlike the real Hollywood, mine isn’t so picture perfect. Music is a main part in my life and so I had to have a soundtrack photo, not only is it important in my life, but also plays a vital role in a movie. I would show this photo more symbolic, where it wouldn’t just be a straight on photo. Also with this photo I think that I would add another medium. This would help to bring it more alive, because music brings the movie alive in a way. The deleted scenes are extra things that go unseen or forgotten. In whole it shows what I believe to be the real Hollywood.
The mode of thought that I’m putting in to these photos is a more realistic mode. It’s just what you see, plain, simple, and beautiful. I want you to look at it and see all the true beauty that is around us, just as it is. A lot of time we feel the need to perfect things, or ourselves, but I want to show the real bare mineral side, to make the imperfections perfectly imperfect. I have a more autobiographical sense to where my concerns are grounded. It really is all about me and my life. It tells a story about what’s important and wonderful to me. This shows that the type of thinking that will go in, and be needed to experience the piece is narrative. Because it’s the story of my life, you will have to be in that mindset when looking and taking the photos.
This piece is connected in the theme. They all have are parts of a movie, because when we think of Hollywood, we think of movies, so that’s how it all ties together with the “My Hollywood” idea. Though they all connect, they don’t have a normal story that grows over time. Time really isn’t a major part in this piece; it’s more of the present and now, describing who I am, at this moment and who and what makes me that person. Form, will be the main accept of my photos. Lighting and angle is going to help show the personalities of each object in the photo. They will create the mood and tone of the photos. Color will be the focal point in my photos. If I do have color, then it will symbolize an emotion or idea, which goes along with that object. The main thing about my photos is that they will be mine, and it will show. There will be this crisp and clean look to all of them. They will be distinct and different.
I think that this piece is more for teenager and adult ages. I don’t think that kids would appreciate it as much. I want them to see that even though they can’t be just like all the stars, there is so much to appreciate in the world that is just as good and beautiful. It can be looked at anytime, for anyone. It really is simplistic and that’s what makes it wonderful. To be honest, not a lot of artists have influenced me because I don’t know a lot of artists. It really will just be me that shines through these pictures. My hope is that others will see it simply like I do, there really won’t be any need to try to think what is being said; it will just be said. It will make you look and leave you happy, and content.

Yellow Wallpaper

I think this shows the story the yellow wallpaper because there is her husband who is always looking over her shoulder, control everything that she can do. Then there is her, she looks tired, depressed, and limp. The limp hand shows that she can hardly do the simple tasks that she is allowed and half the time the task she does, she doesn't want to do. The scattered pills, show that she is ill, but the reflection is great, it really shows that she is not happy with who she has become and what she is doing at the moment. The yellow tint, makes you uneasy and edgy, the fuzzy reflection and distress look on her face just goes to show the frustration and uneasiness, of the whole room, and life of the poor lady.

Color with Meaning

The tea cup is my favorite. The purple flower on the inside of the cup is the focal point and overall, it screams royal. The beauty of the contrast between the purple and white, just amaze my eyes. The yellow spatula reminds me of warmth and stem of the kitchen but the bright yellow, reminds me of the sun. The overall affect is summer cooking. Warm, tasty, and bright. The Blue heart set up, really at first glance is valentine's day love. The blue though of the heart, is the focal point and creates a sad and cold mood, meaning that not everyone has a happy V-day. The tree one, is great. I love it with all of the colors. The warm background reminds me a of a campfire, with red the intense seriousness, because it seems like in all my memories there was always that intense feeling, but the orange mixed in, symbolizes the playfulness and fun of campfires too. The purple tree though is a great deal of contrast, purple is class and royalty and sophistication. Where at camp you leave that all behind and so the bright fun colors out shine the tree, and overthrow the need to be perfect, like the color purple gives off.
